Youth

The children and young people in our church family make up an important part of who we are, and their ages range from very small to young adults

First steps is an Ecumenical group that meets in the Methodist Church Hall fortnightly on a Wednesday.  It welcomes both parents and carers and includes talks and Bibles stories, aimed at pre-school children from 0 – 3+.

Sunday Club happens every Sunday morning during the service time. Sunday club splits into 3 age group for their activities with occasional all together time for special occasions. All 3 groups follow the same teaching programme but aimed at different ages

EPIC (it stands for Eating Pizza In Church or Every Person In Christ). They meet on a Saturday every month. The evening is a mixture of games, food, craft and laughter and was designed as a transition group for our young people, and yes, they do eat Pizza – Domino’s love delivering!

YPF is for years 9+ meeting every Sunday evening in term time from 6.30 – 8.00pm. we have 12-15 regular attenders from lots of different schools, and it is a great opportunity for them to meet and catch up. Activities are varied as are questions and discussions. There is an annual rounders match between current YPF and ex YPF, many of whom are still members of the congregation, which is taken very seriously by both parties!

We are just about to restart a mid-week Bible Study for our older YPF based around sharing a meal and study.

In addition, we have some very musical young people who are part of our worship group and bell ringers

Messy Church happens twice per term on a Sunday afternoon and is for primary aged children, we have an hour of craft activities based around a theme with varying levels of messiness. We then go into church for a short and very informal act of worship and finish with an afternoon tea. Parents attend with their children and we have found it an excellent opportunity to welcome families into the church in a relaxed atmosphere

Youth Weekend - Every year we take our children and young people away for a weekend, the teaching and activities are led by the team and several of our young adults also come to serve, lead sessions and enjoy the fun.
